Looking for SSIIs
I have a 1973 Cutlass S with a 403.
Looking to go to SSIIs with the trim rings etc. then color match them to the car -- Can anyone make a recommendation and source for parts?
Also whats the best size 14x? or 15x?

15" for sure as the tire selection in 14" is very limited.
Factory wheels would be 15x7 but if you go for the aftermarket wheels, why not get 15x8 so you can use a wider tire if you want - those 403s make a lot of torque and can be hard on skinny rear tires.
edit:
Oops, I see you want to match the vehicle color, so factory wheels are the only choice. If you want 8" or wider, then you could use 14x6 or 14x7 wheels and have the centers cut out and welded into 15" blanks in 8", 9", or 10" width.

Be aware that if you go to SSII/III wheels, you will not be able to upgrade the brakes as you are looking to do in your other thread. Even the 15" SSII/III wheels will only clear the stock 11" rotors.

I found a set of 4 - 14x7 SSIIs for sale with center caps for sale for $250 - Seems like a good price. The add says '14x7 for 1970-72' and the wheels have a stamp on them that reads 14x7 JJ with what looks like an upside down '7' then 88 (before the size). So, my questions is.......will these fit my 1973 Cutlass S (with my std. front disc and rear drum)?
