Having SS wheels straightened

I have a couple of wheels that are bent a bit side to side on my '74 Cutlass Supreme. They are SS 3 wheels with snap on caps I got back in the '90s off a '76. 15×7. Have any of you ever had these wheels straightened, and if so, how did they turn out?

Those wheels are lug-centric and may not be bent. The fault may lie with the tire dealer. Check it out as I did...

I got six of the same type of wheel in the same time-frame as your purchase. Over that time, I've had four of them diagnosed as bent.

The first two times, I took them for straightening. But the people whom I chose to straighten them told me they were OK.

I learned to use only tire dealers who would use the proper attachment for lug-centric wheels on their balancing machine. I have continued to use those dealers. But when they have personnel turnover, they sometimes claim ignorance. But after asking around, they eventually find their lug-centric attachment.

Didn't think about that. Good point. They probably aren't balanced correctly either. I get a small vibration at 60-65. I may also need some new lug nuts. Which lug nuts do you use? I drive this car on a lot of long trips, so comfort is very important

I was just down that road this past year. Was told my rim was bent after 2 different places balanced my wheels using the hub centric method. I took 2 rims to get them straightened. The guy told me they were only marginally out and wouldn’t cause my issue. He rebalanced all my wheels properly.
thanks to the people on this site that told me about lug centric balancing for my 1975 rally wheels. My problems went away at 60 mph. 👍
