Anybody used these or have any comment? I'm looking at them as an alternative to the Cooper Cobra
or another set of brown-letter Radial T/As, which seem to be the only other choices I have in a 225/70R14. They also have the ancillary benefit of being cheaper than either.

Other suggestions are welcome too.

Not a great answer to your question but I have found Cooper & General, in general, are good quality tires and I have run them on Cutlii a few times over the millennia. My son has a set of Altimax snows on his 70 Cutlass and likes them. Also put them on customer vehicles a number of times with either good feed back or never another word.

Only “general”alities I realize, but figured I’d throw 2 cents in.

I say it's time to move up a few wheel sizes to 17" - then your tire choices expand exponentially across many top brands and all arguably way more modern tread/handling benefits than the 40+yo tire tech still being offered in the Radial T/A and Cobra, et al options... You lose is the white/brown letter options, but that ain't hard to get past once you've made the switch.

Only really adjustment to make them work would be to update your speedo gear set to the correct calibration for the increased overall height difference.

as an example, I run Falken 245-50-R17 on AR Torq Thrust 17x8's all around, BS 4.5".

 

Thanks, guys. I like my 14" SS I's just fine and can't really justify spending money on new wheels if I can find tires in my size. Also, I
prefer the vintage look of a taller section height as opposed to the modern low-profile look.

Adam, thanks. I saw those Futuras in another thread and looked them up. Unfortunately, they don't appear to be available in Canada.

Yeah, 14" are tough. I like the Cooper Cobra and look just as good in black wall. Tough to beat the price, about $10 cheaper the General's at Canadian Tire. I actually considered the General Grabber for a little taller tire, 27x8.5R14 on 14" my factory aluminum rims off my 88 Cutlass.
