Well I needed some new tires since mine were 25yo by the date code. Well that turned into rims and tires so I looked around found some I could live with and since most places the price was similar I ordered thru CarID since they help to sponsor classic olds!
Order was placed on 6-22-18, I received an email shortly after that stated thanks ship date is 7-3.
Meh seemed like a long lead time especially when other places say they will ship the same set up the next day! Ok I can wait, well 7-3 came and went and no tracking number, first I contacted them thru live chat and they chattee said I can't access the wheels database? So I called their 800 # and received answers like the warehouse is closed, I will call or email you back, and we know we missed the ship date and can't provide you with another valid ship date( I called more than once over 2 days as I assumed their answers were related to the holiday 7-4)
Finally with no committed ship date on their part I said well I'm going to cancel the order, that was met w you can't cancel on wheel and tires!
The email they sent me regarding my wheels and tires had a cancel link so I followed it and was eventually led to a page that said no cancels on w&t orders!
I thought well I will PM my story to the CarID username here on CO, but turns out they don't receive pms at their Username so I'm posting this here
I am unhappy w CarID because;
Their wheel and tire reviews have more than 1 instance of reviewers stating my stuff was shipped the next day
I didn't find out my stuff was supposed to be shipped in 10 days until after the order was placed ( meh not a problem if they met that deadline) but I would not have ordered if I knew in advance it was gonna take 10 days there plenty of places that will ship in 3 days or less.
When they didn't meet their own deadline they can't provide a timeframe for shipment
They haven't gotten back to me thru email or phone although twice they said they would.
And now I can't cancel my order!!!
I will accept any advice or condolences or fixes on this issue CarID feel free to respond

I don't have any suggestions other than call CarId and tell them to cancel the order due to them missing the initial ship date. This link is by the FTC for credit card purchases. https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/article...never-received
To maybe wrap this up CarID sent me an email stating a new ship date is 7-13-18.
I called them back today and again stated I wanted to cancel this time, ( same CSR btw) said ok let me see if I can do that, after almost exactly 10 mins she gets back on the line as says ok no problem but we need a restock fee of $120. I explained that they missed their date and provided me w a date 10 more days from now when other places says they will ship the next day, we went back n forth for a couple minutes and she put me on hold for another 5 minutes, when she got back on she said ok no problem we will issue a full refund in 24-48 hours.
If that does not happen I will post back to this thread.
Thanks for posting your experience. It will definitely make me think twice about doing business with CARID.
Is it too much to ask people to just stand by their word or maybe go above and beyond when it comes to customer service?
I would understand more if they were out in front of the delay or missed shipped date and notified you but you had to find out for yourself when you were expecting what you both agreed to and what you paid for.
Customer service is everything these days and that is poor.
Hope it works out.
You didn't specify what wheels you ordered. Were they vintage repro wheels or modern wheels? I've actually ordered from CarID numerous times and had good service from them. I can't say the same for Wheel Vintiques. It took several months to get my SS1 wheels from them. I don't think anyone stocks the vintage wheels, they're apparently made to order on a very slow assembly line.
I ordered the us mags rambler rim AFAIK it's not on national back order like the SS1s, I just reordered from summit and they should be here next week and a couple dollars cheaper, plus I know summit try's to keep the customers happy.
I've got no beef w CarID but like scrappie said just keep me updated its not that hard.
CarID is a joke. They used comments I made on a different forum to create fake product reviews from fake customers. I called them out on it and they said "sorry" and sent me a 10% off coupon.
