American Racing Torq Thrust - 15" Diameter

I am looking for something similar to the American Racing Torq Thrust. I have an off brand (Eagle Alloys). I have 225/60-15 in the front and 245/60-15 all on 15x7 rims (I didn't do this, the previous owner had this "great" idea. LOL). The problem I have is I want to go wider in the rear (275) but I can only find the Torq Thrust in an 8" wide rim. For the tires I want in the rear I should be around a 9.5-10" wide rim. I want to stay with a 15" diameter rim and 60 series tires.
I had thought of Keystone Classics but I'm not sure how that would look on my car.

Have you at least thought about moving up in size to 17" TT's? they come in a 9.5" width and the 17s will give you many more and newer-tech tire choices than 15's.

I run the 17x8 TT's with 4.5" BS on my '72 - 245-50-R17 tires all around which come in at the same overall height as my old 15" TT's with 245-60-R15 tires.

I have TTOs (VN309s) on my 67 Delta. 15x7 on the front with 235/70-15 and 15x8.5 on the back with 275/60-15. The tires fit fine on those wheels.

275/60 fits just fine on an 8" wide rim. You'll play hell trying to seat the beads on a 10". I resorted to starting fluid and a torch to pop them on. In the end, the 10s put a wider footprint down, but 8s will hold it, no problem. I even had them on 7s, at one point.

I haven't thought of 17's. I just got the car in Jan 2024 and I like the looks of the 15's (60 series), that's why I wanted to tweak my look a bit by going to a larger rear tire than the ones on it now.

Thanks, Joe P and Fleming442, that is the what I have been hearing on two different 66/67 Cutlass FB pages as well.
When you are uneducated with these things, you can learn a lot! LOL

It seems to me that you are over thinking this. Just have the 275/60-15's mounted on the rims you have and be done with it. No one will know what width rims you have on your car except you and me. And I am not telling.

Just trying to make an educated move here. From what I read is the minimum rim width is 7.5" (I currently have 7") rims and when you go narrower then you don't have a flat/even tread contact with the ground.

But I appreciate you keeping my idea a secret!

Thanks for sharing. I appreciate it!
Are those 60's or 50's you have on there?

From what I recall, the Chevy SS454 trucks had 275-60s on 15x7 wheels from the factory.
