After disc brake conversion, original wheels won’t fit.

So after our disc on the front, the original wheels won’t fit. So I had to go to a gmc 1/2 ton wheel. These won’t take the hubcaps though. What do I do???

What rims and size?

Some 14” rims will clear factory style discs. You may need to source some of those ( what disc set up did you swap to?)

other options olds 15” rims factory or aftermarket

or 17s

The guys who sold you the disc brake, should have a template. You can download and print. Tape of glue on cardboard. And check the rim manufacture.

https://baer.com/Templates.html See video on how to.

Which discs did you put on? Most* Olds wheels will do factory discs, key word being factory.

*=not all.

How about you tell us the year, model, and WHICH disc brake swap? "Half ton" wheels have a 5 x 5" bolt pattern, so I ASSUME we are not talking about an A-body. Where did the disc brakes come from?

I had a former acquaintance who put 4 wheel disk brakes on his 54 and had to use Chevy truck wheels.

Well, in that case there's no wonder the original wheels don't fit. They are drum-brake only wheels. The 5 x 5" wheels from any 1977-1990 B-body wagon should work fine, depending on the details of the actual disc brake kit.

I did a disk brake conversion on my 69 cutlass the caliper brackets wont clear the 14 inch ss 2 rally wheels. It seems all the after market conversion kits are using the same brackets.I called Dessert Valley and was able to get a set of factory original brackets. Problem solved.
