65 delta wheels

Looking for some help on new rims and tires size for my 65 Delta 88. I'm looking at the cragar chrome keystone klassic rims at summit racing. I would like to go as wide as possible and want to give it a little rake look with the rear a little higher than the front. The web site list several bolt patterns, backspace and offsets. Thanks for any help.

Your bolt pattern is 5 x 5". You want as close to zero OFFSET as possible. I prefer specifying offset instead of backspacing because backspacing is a function of wheel width, offset is absolute. For zero offset, the backspacing is a little over half the width - 3.75" BS on a 7" wide rim, 4.25" BS on an 8" rim, etc.

Thanks now I understand the backspace. Sounds like I need to stay either with the 7 or 8 inch width rims. Way about and can I convert to front disc brakes in the future?

Unless you are buying 1960s vintage drum brake-only wheels, any wheel you can buy today will clear factory-size disk brakes. Of course, if you are using an aftermarket kit, it depends on the size of the rotors and calipers.

Ok I have some more info on the two types of rims I would like to go will from Summit both are the Cragars Keystone klassic and the cragars ss supersports.

the keystones are 5x5 8 inch with a 3 and 7/8 back space the 10 inch are 4 and 1/8 back space.

the ss supersports are 5x5 8 inch with a 4 and 1/8 backspace and 10 inch are 4 and 3/4 back space.

I would like to go as wide as I can. any ideas on tire sizes and combinations? Thanks
