Of all of my Olds, the Vista gets the most compliments

Thank you all for the kind words!

I am thinking about tubbing this car and putting in a 425 stroker.

Indeed. It is very beautiful. Also, why would you stroke a 425? It is already a torque monster...

Way too nice to change. However, that being said I notice that the woodgrain that Vista's came with isn't on this one. I'm guessing that someone b4 u has already done some modifying on this car. Could look real cool tubbed out with 17's or 20 customs. What's it like for power? Hard to tell if it's a 70, 71 or 72 from the thumbnail. I think Overhaulin (Chip Foose) redid a Cutlass years back and on put one off (18 front 20 back) Foose wheels that were a tribute to the super stock ones. Looked real cool as a resto mod. Can't remember whether they rebuilt the original Rocket or put in a crate motor. But I remember seeing it and hearing it run. Impressive head turner. Good luck with your project.

And

Citcapp you exhibitionist. You gotta remember the golden rule" If this wagons rockin, don't come knockin". If you're doin the beer and wine thing with your girl (I'm assuming that's who your sweetheart is), I seriously doubt that you've got the tailgate open. Did you notice the dark "privacy tint" on the back of this wagon? PUURRRFFEECCCT!!! You still got drive ins? Or are you just an oldie with memories like me?

Looks real good, surely is red. Now I see woodgrain or do I? my guess.. is it a '67?
I take my Astro van to the drive-in, I don't want to trash my Vista when it's done, or at least for a little while.

James, it looks like some kind of animal crawled into your gas tank through the filler cap. You might want to check that out.

Vistas = COOL!

Hey Jamesbo, nice looking Vista, no woodgrain? Hmmm, Tigers can be used instead of gasoline? that's cool. How many Miles Per Tiger do you get? I was thinking of trying some Panda Bears myself.

Cool! I am sure PETA would have something to say about that.

For The young guys FYI

Those of us with a bit of age on us well remember the Standard Oil [ESSO]commercials with the tiger urging us all to "put a tiger in our tank," meaning of course, that the gas sold by them was powerful, and similar to placing a huge beast in your gas tank. I remember even getting free fake tiger tails to place on the gas tank cap.

I am sooooooooo jealous. I first learned to drive in a cutlass cruiser. Too bad a friend wrapped it tightly around a telephone pole. Any way nice ride to you both. Some day I will have one too.

I have a bit of age on me too but it doesn't bother me, "at least you made it this far" as my daddy says. I have a Tiger tail too, use it with My Geeto Tiger GTO, have the Grrrr front plate too. I remember the Union 76 horseshoes, those fluorescent red and green tubes with the silver tape spiral stripes, Big Boy?, the orange styrofoam antenna toppers, Texaco Tankers (I had one, it sunk and was lost). My wife's dad owned a Sunoco station, got tons of Norman Rockwell Collector plates in the boxes, wish I had the Eagle Stamps. When I pumped gas all the stamps people didn't take were mine, I did good, at a buck an hour you did all you could. I have to find some of those big stick-on fluorescent flowers for the Vista, found a nice happy face button down in the seat.

Sorry, Please save the stick on flowers for you next VW bus rebuild.

Even though it's the same year as Woodstock, my Vista has more pride than becoming the ride of a "Flower Child"

Remember, I'z got a "tiger in my tank" and 4 sun visors.

Don't mess with somebody with 4 sunvisors and a 455 in a Vista.
