1965 F-85 wagon

I posted this on the 65 only site and had about the same said there. I said he'd be better off diassembling it and parting it out. Another member replied that it already looks disassembled.

If it was a complete parts car, maybe $450 or $500. With the missing front end, whoever said $250 is right. But even that might be a stretch as any parts that might have been useable on a '65 Cutlass appear to already be gone. Is that why the front end is missing?

I bought the front clip over a year ago, and he wants to sell the rest.
It sucks to see classics slowly rot away. On the positive side, at least its not a Vista Cruiser.

We can be sad that cars rot away, but at least this one, if it ends up doing so, is only half-rotting away, as you bought the front half for a what we presume is a positive, restoration-related reason.

Well, looking at the vegetation in the background it looks like a desert location. I have a 1964 2 door hardtop with paint just like that but there's no cancer in it. I know the interior is rotten, but the metal itself may be sound. A big project for sure, but I wouldn't write it off. Call me an optimist but I see potential here

I know the Vista Cruiser doors are longer but always thought those were the same?
Lots of very nice wagons get cannibalized for their front ends for two doors, it's a real shame.
May be good for somebody restoring one but you can buy those wagons complete for a coupe of grand. They must have sold a bunch of them because there are more of those than the later flat tops around it seems.
It would cost you a bundle to restore that thing without a parts car, and even then it's big bucks to restore wagons.

Are the rear doors different than a four door in '65?

Rear SW doors use a different door glass so window frame is different.

i would only buy that wagon on the condition that i was going to do an upgraded suspension, and modern tilt/ column and a custom interior... because when you do all that you might as well get a car that doesnt need to be taken apart lol

There is a 64 F85 flattop wagon in a local yard that is more complete with a locked up 330 and all its body parts. The yard wanted $500 for it before he busted on of the side glass out of it. I wouldn't give him more than $350. It has it's issues but I know where I could get most of the parts to fix. But it's a major project!! BTW the seats look good enough to clean and use as drivers.
