is it possible to repair grill bars?

hi, does anyone know if its possible to repair by welding the grill bars on a 1950 olds 88? or what type of metal its made of?

you have to goto the go advanced button right below the reply box and then manage attachments to post pics from your PC. also make sure the images are small enough otherwise you get a token error

Again, I have to go by the '53, but the curved ends are likely potmetal, and the center sections are stamped steel. If it feels thick, it's going to be a potmetal casting, which will be difficult to fix. If it feels thin, like sheet metal, then it can be more easily welded & metal finished. Potmetal can be repaired by specialists, but it is expensive.

There's a site on the internet named Rezac Rockets that specialize in '49and '50 olds body parts.I think it's in Nevada,but states that he has been gathering parts for these cars for over 40 years.his number is 402-443-8424. Never dealt with him,but thought you might want to give him a call. Good luck. Larry
