Part numbers needed.

56 olds 324 I need a thermostat 195* and the fuel filter that goes under the glass in the pump. All the local part stores' books only go back to 62 even the only non-chain store left in the area.

I didn't see a 195 degree thermostat in napa but I did see a 192 in autozone

I always look up parts before going to the auto parts and take them their part number makes my life wayyyyy easier. Also take the part in hand and compare prior to buying the new one, just because they say it fits don't make it so.

I got everything i was looking for except the fuel filter. The Fil 3034 that is listed on NAPAs website is not the right one for a 56 Olds 324 at least not mine (240HP 4bbl in a super 88). It is too small in diameter and the center hole is too small and wont fit in the pump. Right now I soaked the one that was in the pump in carb cleaner and put it back in. I will also run another filter in line.

Try TSC for your filter and glass bowl...some tractors use the same size
