How often should I lube the front end on my 57 olds?

I recognize that the question was about the front end. On a classic that doesn't get a lot of miles I'd perform a lube of the suspension, locks, emergency brake cables, universal joints if equipped with zerks, and hinges annually. Brake hardware such as adjusters and backing plates maybe every 2-3 years. Be careful when lubing the front end not to inject too much grease that would damage the boots, put enough grease in the joint to swell the boot a little and stop.

Back in the day when the car was new, recommended oil change was every 3,000 miles and most people got the car lubed at the same time. It was funny back in those days that most stations recommended changing the filter every other oil change. I agree with the others that no more than most of our cars are driven, once a year is sufficient. I change my own oil and filter but usually take my car to one of the quick oil change places to get it lubed. Most of the times the guys do it for free because they like the car. So, I leave them a nice tip. I hate fooling with a grease gun.

I had to view the thread to make sure myself...otherwise, not going there, nope!
