Fuel pump on a 1950 Rocket 88
I need a new fuel pump for my 1950 Rocket 88. The threads on my pump that trap the diaphragm have been stripped and although I have tried helicoiling them it hasn’t worked well as the aluminium is corroded. So I’m going to bite the bullet and get a replacement. I can’t send the old one with stripped threads as a core and without a core both Fusick and Kanters are similar prices. The Kanters pump look identical but has an FP9294 part number where-as you can see in the photos my part number is 9589. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about these as, if I get it wrong, the postal charges get very high!
The FP9294 part number assigned by Fusick, has nothing to do with the fuel pump model number 9589 stamped on your pump.
Yes FP 9294 is the right pump for a 1950 Olds.
