Need to R&R my headlight switch with an NOS I found.

Any helpful hints on this job?

You have to press a button with a spring to free the **** and then pull the switch

If you don’t find the button I can take a picture.

 

Is the button on the pull **** or on the housing?

 

Here you see a series of pictures of the 48 Oldsmobile Headlight Switch. Is the same method to disassemble for a 53 Chevy I have.

With the button pressed, pull the **** out, so it frees a groove it has on the end of the **** shaft.

Thanks for those pictures. However, my NOS headlight switch does not have a push button.

I have not looked at mine underneath the dash yet.

Here's my application. 1948 76 series.

You gently press down (3rd pic) on "tang" to release **** rod.

 

Good. Never see one of those in my cars. Useful tread.
