1948 Futuramic 98 fender welting

1948 Futuramic 98 fender welting

Did the above have fender welting on the rear fenders? If so, has anyone replaced it and what kind would you suggest?

Yes, the rear quarters unbolted from the body on 1948 98's.
They will have to be unbolted to replace the welting.
Welting is available here;
Fender Welt (restorationspecialties.com)

I've never done a 48 Olds. So I couldn't tell you which one for sure.
It would be one of the first two on the page. The vinyl covered stuff.
Do you have any of the old welt? if so, measure the diameter of the round part.
I'm thinking that it's 1/4 in, but that's only a guess.
