1954 olds super 88 convertible

Thank you for taking this question. Car referenced above housed in Florida. What is the recommended engine oil and transmission fluid for the above for this vehicle?

Man I would like to see some pictures of your car. There are not many of these around. I run Valvoline VR1 20W50 in my 54. It has the zinc you need for these old flat tappet engines. I tried 10W30 but it seemed to use more oil. That is probably because it is an older engine. As for transmission fluid just run the Dexron/Mercon you get at any parts store.

What Red said. I run Rotella 15 40 in my car mostly for the detergents and zddp in it but any good oil with the correct zddp ill work fine. Same with the transmission fluid anything with Dextron compatible will work fine....Tedd
