A bit of shimmy
A bit of shimmy
While driving my 49 Olds 88 I get a bit of shake through the steering shaft and wheel around 40mph that smooths out at higher speeds. The tires are newer coaker tires and look to be professionally balanced. I have no reason to think they aren’t balance or to think they have lost a weight.
my king pins have a bit of play, but I’m not sure how much is to much. Think I should start with a clean slate and replace the kingpins? Whew bearings are greased and properly adjusted. My steering box was in real bad shape when I got it. Super hard to turn. I discovered it was bone dry. I added the proper steering box lube and it helped free up the box.

Check In your area for Hunter Road Force balancing. Also ask if they will check the current balance as a reference point but still get the Road Force balancing. Tell the tech doing the balance the symptom, they may spot something.
