On Coupe cars (I have a 1953 S88 Coupe) there is a foldable trim piece that sits on the roof/door opening and folds up when door is opened and down over window when the door is closed.
This foldable stainless trim piece looks almost like a "vent shade", anyhow its supported by 3 springs and one of them is broken.
Have looked at Fusick and some other places without any luck, hard to google since I don't really know what to call it...
Looked at other GM coupe cars from the same era and they look the same.
Does any of you have a source for this spring?
There is lots of them for sale on ebay. Google search 'door flipper springs cadillac'. I think they are the same for the entire GM line that used flippers.
If I'm reading the Oldsmobile Body Parts Book correctly, they are called "Spring, Flipper Weather Strip". Group 10.721
1952 & 1953 Holiday Coupe front ............part number 4608285
1952 & 1953 Holiday Coupe rear..............right hand part number 4608287; left hand part number 4608288
Newer years have different part numbers.
