'39 60-SERIES SUSPENSION - PICS
Hello all--
I'm new to the site and was looking for a few experts in the antique models who might take a look at the photos below and venture a guess. Seems this car had been in a front-end collision some time in it's past which damaged the knuckle support, lower control arm and knee action shock on the drivers side. I found this when I got underneath to replace the king pins and bushings. I determined that the knuckle support was bent so I found a Moog replacement on ebay. I was told that the Moog number to replace the original GM #410915 should be #521. Here's what I ended up with. I checked with Fusick who also has a Moog #521 and they verified that this should be the correct replacement for the GM # above which is for the '39-'53 Olds.
Obviously, these 2 parts are quite different. The straight Moog part on the right in the photos is causing the tire to lean inward throwing the camber off by about 1.5 degrees. I'm unable to adjust for this with the top pivot pin. The slight arch in the GM part on the left gives the tire an extra push outward allowing for proper zero camber.
Any opinions on this?
