Posi-traction in 55 Olds rearend

Was posi-traction offered in 1955 Oldsmobiles? If not is there a unit that I can install in my stock 55?

The earliest I've seen a Posi in an Olds was 1957.

Nope, as stated no Posi until 1957. Your pumpkin is different and will not accept a 57 Posi even if you could find one. There is a aftermarket unit that will fit the 58 and up with 32 splines so if you wanted posi you would need to go with a 58 thru 64 housing and retro fit into you 56. or use a later GM setup that matches your width but your bolt pattern would change in the rear

Doubtful you could spin both tires with a stock 324, what are your plans that you would need a posi.... Tedd
