Split Rim Tire/Inner Tube Help

Hi all,

Taking a shot here. Working on a 1927 Olds Landau. Have 4 new tires and inner tubes, but need help with removal of old tires/tubes and installation of the new ones.

I’m located in Bethany Beach, DE 19945. Does anyone by chance know of someone or a shop reasonably near me that can disassemble the old tires/inner tubes and install the new ones?

Thanks in advance!!!
Bob

Call a shop that deals in farm tractors and heavy equipment. Those folks deal with split rims. They won't be scared of them.

I have several cars from the 20's that have split rims. I just bought new tires at Hershey from Croker Tire and mounted them. You need a tool called a rim spreader to remove the tires. You remove the bolt and the rim spreader pulls in the rim to remove then crank it back to secure. I can take a picture of the tool later if you want. I also have a couple that I could sell if interested. I live in Maryland.

You remove the bolt and the spreader has three arms that pull the rim in to remove the tire them crank it back to install the tire. I have one to sell if you are interested. I can post a picture of it later. I live close to you in Maryland.
