So what tire options do I have to use on my car? I have the original 16" tube rims and need some cheap used tires. What is a good full size tire and can I put them on my old tube rims?

You need to go with an equivalent type tire with a tube. I don't know what the market is on used tires for that era rim.

I would assume that you can get away with anything from 600 to 700-16's. 28.56 - 31 inch diameter.

x2 on those tire sizes and you may as well not look for cheap used tires in those sizes. 16 inch tires on cars went the way of the Dodo birds about 1950. I believe 600x16 were standard on 60 series as the 60 series was about the same size as Chevrolet and Chevy used 600x16. Also check Diamond Back Tires www.dbtires.com I hear good things about them.

You might try 205/70/16's in a modern radial tire, they may be a little wider but many small SUV's run that tire and there should be some around in used tire shop.... Tedd

I don't think he can put tubeless tires on a rim that requires tubes, correct me if I'm wrong.

You can't run tubeless tires on that wheel but you can run tube and tubeless tire together.
