Show us your '58 Olds "Chromemobile"!

Not a lot of '58s out there, or on here. Here's a few pics of my former Arkansas Super 88 4 dr sedan project, a very solid car, just getting started on her!

Yes, 58s seem to be very rare these days. Much easier to find a 59. A local guy had an amazing condition 58 98 convertible that he just sold. He had an enormous amount in the chrome work. He sold it last year for just under 100K. Looks like yours is in a great condition for a 58.

Luckily most of the trim is in surprisingly good shape and is stainless, not chrome over pot metal, only a few pieces need work... mind you it's a driver, not a show car, so a few flaws will be tolerated. There's a few scrapes on the bumpers that will be overlooked, at least for now!

The future color will be either Desert Glow (salmon pink) or Heather (pale lavender), not the current boring Sandstone (beige).

I used to hate all the chrome flash. But I wasn't into cars until the 60s. Now I really like the look. Good luck with it, and I like your future color choices.
