A reminder of my Pappap
My Pappap always had Buicks as far back as I can remember. I wish I had been old enough to have a chance at his 61 Electra. Unfortunately, I was only 8 when he passed on, and the babied Buick was "given" to my idiot cousin. You guessed it, wrapped around a tree within a week.
I know. What does this have to do with Oldsmobiles? Well, my aunt recently gave me some "stuff" that was my Grandfathers old car things. She figured since I was the car nut in the family I would appreciate it most.
She told me to come over and see if I was interested in any of the stuff she had saved in boxes.
In the boxes were old sales brochures and alot of memorobilia from when my Pappap would never drive anything other than, you guessed it, OLDSMOBILE! Even a 1959 Owner Protection Policy that was filled out up to the 12,000 mile checkup. That's the last Olds he had befor he switched to Buick. There was also a beautifully preserved 1956 Olds lineup foldout.
All were from Ruhe Olds, our local Olds dealer. There was also some Buick pamphlets from C&G Buick, our local Buick dealer. Sadly, both are no longer in business.
There were alot of neat old magazines from the sixties also.
Here's some pics of the Olds brochures. Enjoy
