Looks like a fun ride, what are your plans, drive it as is, restore it or just enjoy it. I like the horse blanket interior....Tedd

it is really a good road trip car, rides good, loves to run 70 mph down the road. i live in western ky. in april i drove it 3 hours to memphis tn. to the super chevy show and just a couple weeks ago, another 3 hour trip to bowling green ky. to the hot rod reunion. i love taking road trips in it ,seeing all the sites and at every stop answering questions about it from all the curious people where ever we are. mostly i get, what is this? its really a blast kinda making our very own roadkill episode."if you have the means, i highly recommend picking one up"

Surely you had to replace the hood hinges (from viewed in pictures where you took earlier) to get the hood lined up as it is now. I know hood hinges for '54-'56 are "really hard to find) I looked for about 3 years before I was able to find a pair, because one of mine needed to be replaced. Larry

hey larry, when i found the car, someone had taken the hood off, hinges still attached to it, and laid it on the front, just sittin there, i used a lot of wd40 on them, got em to free up, and put it back on. its not perfect, but, pretty dang close. i guess i just got lucky. theyre original to the car. i was at a car show last weekend in benton,ky. and someone took a real cool picture of the olds and put it on this facebook page called "map dot" look it up if you want, i dont know how to get the photo to here or i would post it on here myself.

Kartman, road trips are the best. People can't believe we take ours on the long trips we doand I enjoy those trips more than any other part of the classic car game we play in. Keep that Olds on the road....Tedd

This truck isn't an Oldsmobile (of course) but kind of appropriate to this thread and I thought you all might enjoy it. It belongs to my best friend Mick from Kansas City Missouri. It has been in his family since it was new. His uncle bought it as a work truck originally. It has the original 235 six in it. I think it is way cool.

Those were some serious Fred Flintstone floors! Were you able to save the Olds drivetrain or did you do a swap? If you ever plan a roadtrip to Texas, come for Lonestar Roundup and forget the TV clowns.

yea, the floors were shot, so, i cut it all out and made my own, i am a sheet metal worker by trade so i have access to plenty of metal and tools for that, as for the drive train, there wasnt any, so i just took the cheaper and easier way out and went with a chevy 350/350 combo. i do still use the olds rear end, drive shaft, and drum brakes all around. b&g rod works wheels 17x8 front , 18x8 on the rear. 60 series tires for a taller sidewall, not a fan of a low profile tire.

Much as I hate to see a 350 in everything, makes sense in situations where you're starting with nothing. Anyway - if you really fall in love with this one it'd be even better with a 455!
