Hood ornament ID, please.

I recently bought a house, and I found this in the garage. I think it's from a 50s Oldsmobile, but I'm not sure and I'd your help. It may not be a true hood ornament, rather it may be a turn signal/trim/etc.

I'm not sure what it is but it's definitely space age cool.

Recluse, I moved your post to the Vintage forum. Hopefully one of our regulars with a 50s Olds can help.

I did a Google search but didn't see what it came off of. I would guess a 50s Olds 88, but I couldn't identify it. Sorry
