headlight bucket gasket

Here i am again in need ,of a pattern for the headlight bucket gaskets, the one between the bucket and the fender.I ordered a pair from steele but they are too small and they are the only ones available.I also checked soffseal, metro, fusick, usa supply ,etc...My buckets are the oblong ones about 11.5"tall and 9.5"wide.I did get them to sell me two sheets of the stock rubber so i can make them i just need a pattern, mabey shoebox cardboard or something like that.or if you have a old spare lying around.Steel did offer to make them if i supplied a original part, but that is something i got rid of when i thought i could buy the correct ones. Thanks for the help Glen

Made my own ,not perfect but mostly hidden by the trim bezel gasket anyway.I would still like to send an original to steele and see if they will produce some ,i see hilea has the same headlights as mine also and hopefully more people will be restoring these old girls so we can stay young just looking at them.

I was thinking of the same thing---why not make your own. Years ago,I needed a gasket for something on my first race car (boy, that WAS a long time ago) and made one. I haven't looked for gasket paper since then so finding it could be a challenge. Good luck! Where there is a will...................
