Flywheel tool

What is the best way to hold the flywheel from turning when installing the harmonic balancer on my 324 engine when on an engine stand?

Was thinking of some sort of flywheel tooth tool that would bolt to bellhousing some way. Kent Moore mad a lot of these tools but which one for a 324?

not familiar with the 324 much but I generally have used vice grips clamped onto a junker flexplate. Butt up against the stand

I think we just stuck a small hooked crowbar(two feet long)between the flex plate and bellhousing catching a tooth. I don't remember it being a major problem....Tedd

Or a long screw driver on the flex plate or torque converter bolts.

An old valve heated and bent 90 degrees works just fine

How about the old school trick of taking out a spark plug and feeding some rope into the cylinder with the piston toward the bottom of the stroke. Obviously keep a fair amount out.
