Dual exhaust Options for 52 S88 Coupe
[QUOTE=frmula505;348089]I took it to a welder. Didn't want to blow things up. Tried repairing one about 25 years ago. It ended up bursting at the seams (lucky i didn't hurt myself).
Yeah, I've heard some stories....thanks!

lowering my 53 olds...
hi guys i have a 1953 oldsmobile super 88,and i been working on the suspension.so this is what i did so far... i have a new pair of leaf springs 2inch drop and also a 3 inch lowering blocks in my set up ,with a pair of new stock shocks... the ride is a bit ruff . has any body done this set up around here.. ?should i use shorter shocks or should i raised my car few inches?help....
You may need to get it on a lift someplace and see how much clearance you have with things. The shocks should definitely be the first thing because if they bottom out they'll break the mount or shock. If you have sway bars in rear check that too, mine hit exhaust pipes after lowering.
im doing something similar with the exhaust on my 53 ,need opinions! 350 engine with dual exhaust and lake pipes really loud when they are open but not when they are close, so i install a pair of 12inch glass packs, so i wouldnt had the lake pipes open all the time, but i still wanna had some rumbling .im starting to think that i should get rid off those lakers.what do guys think?
I want to convert my stock single exhaust into a dual exhaust system. I've read a lot of good info on here, but it's been for muscle cars and I am in need of some opinions on the setup for a 50's cruiser. I was also told by a friend that an x or h pipe setup would be best, but then I read about the drone sound some get in the cab and want to avoid that. I'm looking for an enhancement of the Olds sound...sure a little bolder, but still smooth....I hope someone can decipher what I'm going for....Thanks!
