check valve(air)

Hello i am french I have a problem with the power brake ... it was rebuilt by Fusick when do I start the engine the pedal down to 1 or 2 cm and brake locks the wheels when I 'pedal stops the engine and brakes back are unlocked I do not possess the valve between the carburetor on the air hose that connects the brake power the problem is it because of this valve absent: Confused:

With the engine stopped, apply brakes; start engine, brake pedal should go down a little.(This proves the vacuum is working). The brakes should be applied. The valve you mentioned is a one way check valve that keeps vacuum in the storage tank in case the motor stops (allowing 2 or 3 applications of the brakes). The brakes should work without the valve, but there will be no safety stops. If the engine quits, the vacuum stops, thus--NO BRAKES! You really need this valve. Good luck.

we can replace the original valve in a modern car recently? model which could go on? or you could find an original on a wreck or destroyed oldsmobile.

thank you
