Check valve for a brake vacuum canster on 57

I was reading the thread on the stiff brake pedal on 57 olds and what could be causing the problem, I to am having the same stiff pedal. Went out and checked the car and I found it has no check valve. Where can I purchase a check valve that will work ? Would a PVC valve work in line before the tank?

I think it'll work and it's about 6 bucks. I assume you know where it goes?
