Bought a property full of 50s Cars, Mostly Olds, Help!
Hello everyone! I buy and sell collectibles for a living but I have very little knowledge of vehicles/parts unfortunately. Looking for some help figuring out what vehicles I have and ultimately selling them. Had a mechanic out who works on old vehicles, we're working on a plan to get some of the trucks running/sold but he didn't have much to say about the Olds.
Focusing on the Olds
#1 - Teal Olds by tow truck, near street, 1949? Unsure how to open hood
#2 - Convertible Olds, pics show under canopy or being moved, moved offsite and didn't get pic of plate, will do so asap
#3 - Grey Olds in garage, 49-3527, C-1275
#4 - Blue Olds Shell in back/listed on CL, 49-3527, L 7400
#5 - Rusty Olds Shell near garage/listed on CL, can't open hood further, blurry pic of plate, best guess on numbers: 49-3507, BK 2393, very unsure on numbers after BK
#6 & 7 - Buried in the bushes
Also tons of small pieces for various models of Olds, trim, chrome, bumpers, lights and dash components.
Anything you can do to help me ID/price would be very appreciated. Been searching style/body numbers but not having much luck.
Also, advice on how I can get decent money out of them and have it all gone within the next year or so?
I thought about an auction company but having a hard time getting an onsite one to come out and they charge almost half of what buyer is paying anyways.
Current thinking is listing the big/cheaper stuff on CL, the better vehicles we fix up a bit and list on bringatrailer and the better parts we list on ebay.
Backstory on collection:
Family friend who had fought in Vietnam was a big car buff, would buy and part out or fix up and sell old cars regularly in his spare time. Health issues caught up with him and everything sat for ~10 years before I ended up with the property. Most of the smaller photographed items have been binned and stored off site while we get the house fixed up.
Most of those are 49 Oldsmobiles. The convertible has the most value. It looks like the pink one above under all the vines is a 62. What part of the country are you in?
