56 gas tank

It seems that there is a major problem out there with the gas tanks for the 56's?

There are no tanks available in the market place as far as I know!?

I spoke to Fusick recently and they may consider to re- manufacture tanks, but it seems to be a problem of the storage, where are they to put hundreds of tanks, once they are fabricated and supplied?

Do you guys still have the original tanks in your cars?

Is there someone out there who may have an original tank in spare for me? ( I am not thinking of a rusted out one, actually... )

Thanks

Do they not have people who can restore fuel tanks over there?

We do have people who can restore a tank, but mine seems to be much too small!
I only get like 55 Liters into the tank, which should be like 13 gallons...
That is why the fuel gauge does not read correctly.

I recently installed a tank purchased from "tanks". It was listed for a '54 Buick and/or universal. No problem installing it however the sending unit required some modification of the intake tube to fit into the tank. Works good. And it's brand new. If I remember correctly it holds 17 gallons.
