Again this might be an annoyingly simple answer to my question.
I am going through the entire ignition system of the car. As far as I can remember, I have not given it a tune up, I've had it since 1989. Not that many miles, but I do plan on doing more driving with it this summer.
There is what looks like a radio noise suppressor capacitor bolted to the side of the coil. I can find no reference to it in the maintenance manual, or in the Fusick catalog. I'm certain it's an original. So, 67 years old? Probably not still effective. It goes to the + side of the coil.
My question is, will any old noise suppressor do? What is the spec? I can find it on line from multiple places, but have no idea if it is the correct one? Advice on what I should get? I know, probably a silly question...
It's for radio noise and is connected to the coil+ terminal. If your not getting ignition noise through your AM radio, it's probably still good. They are around 3mf and still can be had through most resto places and some auto parts stores. They are pretty generic.

Thanks. I was fairly sure, but there was nothing in the manual about it.
