‘55 2DR Hardtop Resto Need Help identifying missing heater ductwork

I’m working on my ‘55. I have confusion about what heater parts are missing under my dash. Also, trying to find options for replacing defrost cable and passenger side fresh air cable as well as the blinker/parking light socket. Any help is much appreciated.

Welcome to the site! There's several members here with cars of your vintage. I'm going to add to your title and maybe help draw the attention of those who can help you.

I don't know what heater parts you a referring to. The empty hose fitting needs a 3-inch flex vent hose that goes to the defroster heater box. Do you know if the heater works( turns on)? The heater box door that is flashlight lighted is just a vent door. The heater core is to the right and behind that door and the heater motor is on the firewall outside and is visible from the engine compartment. We could use a little help on what you think is missing..

PS drop on down to the vintage forum, and we can get you pictures of what you may need..... Lost in the fifties....Tedd

Basically, there’s a 3/4” hose on the passenger side and a 5/8” hose on the drivers side but I can’t tell what they go to or where they meet in the middle at a “T” possibly?

There are two pieces missing in your first two photos. The Olds parts book calls one "outlet". If I'm remembering correctly, it is cast metal and attaches where you see the screw holes. For 1954-1956, the part number is 3131446. The hose which is connected to the right side "nozzle" (the part which directs the air to the windshield) connects to this "outlet". On the driver's side of the "outlet" there is another hose connection which has a hose going to the "nozzle" hose connection near the fuse panel shown in your third photo. The part number for the left side hose (2-1/2" x 27") 1954-1956 is 564373.

Here's one of the pieces you need, its a spare part if you want to purchase it. I'll dig around to see if I can come up with the other piece. If you'd send me a PM or email with your address I'll get a price for you including shipping.

Reading back through Ozzie's post I think the other piece you need is the hose. Its likely the one I removed came out in pieces, most are brittle from age.

I agree that this is the part you're looking for and the hose you need is easy to find.

As I remember the hose originally was some kind of paper wound outside of a wire spring. Mine also fell apart and was replaced with a plastic piece from Napa.... Tedd

Here how it works. The red line is a hose that goes to your driver defroster manifold

Good job, Pat ^^^^^ Your diagram shows the heater /defroster duct path perfectly. But pay no attention to the A/C ductwork in front of the heater duct. . The car air conditioning system (CAC) is completely separate from the heating and defrosting system. They even have their own blower motors.

My '56 has CAC. See how much fun it is working under the dash with all that added stuff in the way!

I haven't heard from Aggie. The part is on a shelf in my garage if you need it.
