48 Olds Club Coupe Kustomized

I know this is not everybody's thing, but when I was a kid, this is the way the guys were building them where I came from. I always loved that look, so now it's my turn. This is Phase I. I have the original rear bumper guards - haven't decided yet what I'm going to do there. I plan to French the headlights, considering shaving door handles, and, of course, repaint - not sure what color(s) yet. Right now it is a dark green (back is temporarily black epoxy primer - hope it holds up till Fall). I welcome your comments, good or bad.

That is a great looking coupe! I don't see a single thing I don't like. The skirts go with the custom look as does the nosed and decked look and lowering. I think frenching the headlights would be right in line with where you are going with it. I'm 100% for doing what you want with your own car and in this case its all in good taste. I'd call it a 50s look because a lot of guys had similar appearances on their Fords and Chevy's when I was in HS in the late 50s.
I'm having my 47 convertible painted in June and am going to have it done in a very dark green: Jaguar British Racing Dark Green, code 5218P. I think it is a Glasurit Paint color. Inside it looks almost black but outside its great. So of course I like your color choice. Keep posting photos as you make progress.

Is it stock as far as engine and suspension?

Are you aware of the 46-48 Oldsmobile thread under the Vintage Olds forum? It would be a great place to make further posts on your progress.
Lots of 40s owners post there and read regularly.

I forgot to mention the molded in rear fenders which I really like and I did notice the nice even lines where doors and body fit as well as nice hood fit. I think a lot of quality body work done on your car.

Jerry, I really appreciate your comments. I was just a kid in the 50's and around my hometown of Tulsa, this was the look from some of the car clubs. I did my drivetrain first - it has a Chevy small block 383 stroker - 700 R4 tranny - 69 12 bolt rear end with posi - runs great out on the road. Have done the interior with steering column from Limeswork & 53 Packard steering wheel I had brought in 2 inches. Thanks for your input! I will post further in the 46-48 thread.
