1956 oldsmobile illustrated outside stainless trim charts

These are invaluable pictures if you, like me,have been having issues of what trim fits which models in this 1956 Oldsmobile model year. Much thanks to Rocketraider for mailing these to me, and are taken from an Oldsmobile Parts book. I encourage others to take the time and share any information like this on the forum. There is a huge lack of online resources for such a great car. If you cannot see the part numbers, write a note and I will help you out.......Note that the same part has the same part number thru differing models, which helps determine what fits where.

Very nice. Thanks I just finished reinstalling all of my trim. I took pictures of it all when I took it off. I do need one piece and now I can look up the part number.

I have some spare trim I will never use, I just have to identify it to be sure, and am looking for 1 passenger side rear trim and drivers side door trim for a holiday sedan. I will post what I have in the next while......Maybe others have some trim also....

I can do these for 1955-1963 if anyone needs them. The body parts books also have a lot of exploded drawings with part #s for many different components of these cars- stuff like windshield wiper linkages, door hardware etc. Ask and I might be able to find such information for you. Can't guarantee some of the part #s haven't been superseded in the past 50 years or so.

Keep in mind that the dinosaur does not own a scanner so it'll have to be photocopy and snail mail to get it to you.

here is a picture of the spare stainless that I will not use.All trims are pointing downward, some left and right except for the candy cane of course.I kinda think they are two door super 88 but can't be sure without some further examination...long time since I picked these. Tape measure is in 12 inches increments to help you judge. As I mentioned,I need holiday 88 sedan trim, anyone?
