1956 Olds front sheet metal assembly.

Asking a favor from the group! I'm finally getting around to putting the front sheet metal on my 56 Olds-Mad. Now, I bought this car COMPLETELY disassembled, and haven't worked on one in a very long time. I do have a parts and accessories book, and a shop manual for the 56, but neither shows detail about how to put it together. Adding to the problems, is that I subframed the car, so the inner wheel wells, and radiator support need to be modified to fit. So, trial fitting these parts isn't an easy task. I modified the rad support, shown here, and it fits between the frame rails now. But it the upper bar that bolts to it, doesn't seem to be wide enough for the fenders to bolt to it (as in so many other 50's cars). The bottoms of the fenders do not have a place to bolt to the body, but it looks like there might be an additional angled piece to bridge the gap? The car had some rust/rot, and the previous owner had done some crude patch work on it, so I'm not completely sure of anything!
Anyone have pics of how this goes together? Especially rad support to fenders, inner wells, and such, and any braces, brackets you need to make it work.

Yes, thanks, all! Now I get it. But definitely needing a bit more surgery to get it all to work out!

I rebuilt the front end of my '55 several years ago, and have extensive pictures. Let me know if you'd like the set. PM me and I can send you the pics directly via email. The '55 should be mostly the same if not identical.

I was more than a bit worried about remembering how to put things back together!
