1955 Olds 88

I just put up a portable garage (tent) last weekend and dragged my 55 down in front of it yesterday. My intention is to have the car inside before tonight. I took a few before pictures today and will try to post some pictures. I have owned the car for just a little more than a year and have done nothing beside bringing it home and getting 4 tires on it that hold air.

The car was a "project" for some one else before I got it. It was a basket case and all torn apart before I even saw it. It was in a tent garage for over 25 yrs. from what I was told. I bought it from and elderly gentleman who had to give up because of failing health.

I have 5 other Oldsmobile's that also required attention and money . I also remodeled my garage so time and funds have been spread thin.

Hope to make progress before the summer slips away. Will try to get a few pictures posted along the way. I have never done much welding or bodywork. Most of my talent is with nuts and bolts and mechanical stuff.

Rust

Tedd, it has a Fred Flintstone floorboard. Some rust around the windows. I have seen worse.

I hate rust. floorboards aren't to bad to repair but window frames can get very complicated if much frame is lost...Tedd

Not a bad car - I've got a few '55s in various stages of destruction & we're pratically neighbors - feel free to ask questions if you get hung up.
