1949 sedan delivery
Look for a Fisher Body tag on the firewall somewhere under the hood.
That may tell you what other car line (Chevy or Pontiac) that this car was made from.
I do remember reading something about several 1950 sedan deliveries that were built by Oldsmobile that went to internal use by the company.
I don't know if they were ever sold to the public.
If you can, let's see a picture of the car.

Charlie, now that you mention that I remember reading that somewhere too. Of course, that doesn't mean it is true. I just checked my Standard Catalog of Oldsmobile, and it makes no mention of any sedan deliveries in 1049 or 1950. If they were made for internal company use, they would probably not be mentioned.
Here are a couple of photos of the car in question. I've asked the seller for a photo of the data tag. He said he had the car at the OCA meet in Murfreesboro and that the OCA President had "signed off on it", whatever that means. He really didn't elaborate.
Honestly, I really don't care if it's the real deal or not. My wife and I have been looking for a panel or sedan delivery for a while. I showed her this car, and she said, "Get it". That's good enough for me. I love the look of it and certainly prefer it over another Chevy or Ford. Real or not, I'm going to enjoy having a very unique vehicle.

I like it. But it has 1950 trim on the front fenders and doors which was a common upgrade, and the one-piece windshield did not come out until mid-year in 1950. If I liked it I would buy it and enjoy it.
It doesn't matter what VIN it might have now, Oldsmobile never built SD's PERIOD. The BS circulating over the years and pre-internet car show and club years originated from one or two people hyping their vehicle for ego and monetary gain. If it has a Oldsmobile VIN now of any description the vehicle has been tagged, so beware.
It's a shame whoever built the example seen in this thread couldn't go to the effort of getting the tail lights straight.
Still not sure? Contact Bill Erhsam or Franklin Graf both model year advisors with very long experience for confirmation of the facts. Frank has a SD he built from a Chevy and drives and shows today. The only one actually finished and driving I think using a Oldsmobile coil spring rear suspension which Oldsmobile used in 1949.

Jon, don't drop out. You only have one person with negative comments and he may be right. But, as I mentioned earlier, if you like the car, buy it and enjoy it. It appears to be a very nice car and we like seeing where you go with the car.
I just did some cursory searches about sedan deliveries and found two articles which seem to show that car, one with the current yellow wheels and another with read wheels and a Krispy Kreme logon on the side. Both variants look good to me. Wonder if it is for sale and if so what the asking price is, even if it isn't real.
As long as you don't misrepresent it down the road, who cares
Enjoy the car!
I appreciate the creativity, love the subtle colors and would be proud to display this car in my home. I’d agree that the moldings are clocked incorrectly and even question the linear angle that they are installed. The entire idea of creating a “one of none” is to eliminate the question of “that is not quite right”. The creator got it mostly right though and could likely be rectified by the right craftsman. I’d say buy/enjoy it, be proud and smile bigger in the face of the hater’s! (It will drive them bonkers to know that you just don’t give a fly’n “F”!!). Then again, I am biased as my wagon is also a “One of None”. No apologies, live YOUR dream, the rest can marinade in the toxic sauce of their creation. In my opinion it is a beautiful car.
I appreciate the response. The seller had the car with the red wheels and Krispy Kreme logos, and I requested he return it to the yellow wheels with no logo. It is supposed to be delivered later on today.
Since there is no hard documentation that the car is real, my intention is to modify it a bit to suit my tastes and drive it. I drive all my cars, I don't believe in trailer queens. I want to return the interior back to a more period-correct look with a more correct fabric instead of the current gray fabric. I will add disc brakes for safety and air conditioning for comfort. Any mechanical issues will be addressed to make the car very driveable. I'm not sure how long that will all take, but I'm certain it won't be done quickly. I want to make sure I get a very competent shop to do the work.

For many years I had a friend In Idaho that had a big love affair with '50 Olds 88's, generally Holidays or 2 dr fast backs. My friend always wanted a .'49-50 sedan delivery, which reputedly Olds/GM never made. my friend bought a '49 Pontiac sedan delivery, cloned it into a '50 Olds 88 sedan delivery. The car was absolutely beautiful, he showed the car at many Olds events around the western US for many years. To my knowledge nobody ever checked the data plate which was from a Pontiac sedan delivery donor car..
Unfortunately my friend had to much to drink one night and the car was totaled in an accident.. Wm
