1949 98 Seat Question

OK, I am now the proud owner of a 1949 98 4-door. I noticed when I drove it home, the seat doesn't go back far enough (I am 6'3", 260 lbs) for me to be comfortable. Is there something out there that I can use that will set the seat back farther. I am thinking of maybe brackets that bolt on to the existing seat bolts, and have bolts farther back that the seat can bolt on to. Any ideas on this?

Congrats on the new acquisition. I owned a '48 model 88 for a while but didn't experience that problem even though we are the same size. Maybe since the model 88 was a two door the seats were a little farther back. Nobody ever rode in the back seat but I was in and out of it during maintenance and recall how short the leg room was back there. We have quite a few fat-fender owners and hopefully someone will come up with a solution for you. Good luck.

Very nice 98. The color scheme is great.

What I have seen done in the past is take the seat out, take out the adjustment frame that bolts to the floor bolt or weld a long piece of angle or flat steel to the adjustment frame drill new holes and remount everything to back onto locations, you can add as much back movement as you want. you just won't be able to come as far forward as the original location allowed
