1940 Series 60 here
Just wanted to stop in and say hi while I peruse all the vintage forum post.
The wife and I acquired this beaut' off craigslist, straight across trade for one of our motorcycles. This boat had a pretty sad story, but we'll save that for another time. Let's just say the guy we traded with is one of the nicest, most like-able persons I ever met, and bad times always befall some of the best people out there.
Anyways, we still keep in touch, I like to keep him updated on the progress of the build (he still has a lot of emotional attachments to the car) and help him out anytime he needs riding gear or mechanical help with the bike. We're hoping to have her road worthy here in a couple more days. Still got the glass, interior, and some other odds and ends to button up.

Welcome to the group. I'm about 25 mi. north of you in Woodland.
That '40 of yours takes me back a lot of years to my first car which was a 1939 Olds 2 dr. sedan. I have a lot of respect for those who take on a major rod and custom job on a big sedan. Its clear this one has had a lot of metal work smoothing in fenders, front tilt hood and all the rest. Keep the vintage crowd up to date on your progress with more pics and news.
