this is i think made in canada and imported built in 1939 as a right hand drive
there is no visable vin plate or licence plate as it was taken of the road over here in the 1960s i think.
the person i got it of has had it for 50 years and it has been stores in a barn in the bush
the eng numbers on the side of the block are 410932-2 on the top of the block to the left hand side (the only way to see this number is with the head off ) is the letters and number fr26187
can any one id this
thanks
dean
The casting number on the side of the block 410932-2 pretty much jibes with the late thirties.
The fr26187 is confusing. The f would indicate a 1939 60 series which was the lowest priced model.
The 60 series shared the 'A' Fisher body with Chevrolet.
The r is confusing because it doesn't appear in my book, which only covers USA built cars.
Perhaps it indicated a Canadian built car?
The rest of the numbers are sequential usually starting with 1001.
There is also a car number stamped on the top of the frame rail.
It is usually stamped near the steering box, but on your RHD car, it may be on the opposite side.
