Hey all: I saw an ad for one of these a while back in the paper... looks pretty cool (like a '32 Ford). BUT I can find no other info on this car. Like it didn't even exist. Thoughts?

 

I have never heard of that one. but then again I wasn't even close to being around back then either.
Could you be speaking of the 1935 3 window business coupe?

There are a few clubs that want you to join even if you don't have a fixer car yet.

Those 35 business coupes are pretty rare. I'll bet there were less than 3000 ever made. The pictures I posted are from one found in France.

 

When I was a kid growing up in the late 40's and 50's these coups made by every manufacture were often nicknamed salesmans coups. The Fuller Brush man and other traveling sales man loaded up the trunks with there sales goods and traveled small town and county roads peddling the items. Always had candy for us kids. Fun times

 

Ah yes I remember them as well. During the summer months as a young lad I would stay at grandma's house on the farm and the Fuller Brush man, Watkins man, and others would come around peddling their wares. My favorite was the guy selling the different syrups for making orange drinks and such. We never had those 'luxuries' in the city. Good times indeed.

 

I have those same pictures saved in a folder in hard drive and they show up on my screen saver along with all my other Oldsmobile pictures. Nice car.

 

36 is about the same car.
They have a bunch of wood in them, the 36 is the last year with wood.
My brother has the shell of one, he will never get it going, though.
It's a pain to move, since the axle is locked.

If that thing sort of looks like a '32 F**d then perhaps you should check the cocaine content of your cocoa

 

Here is a pre-war Oldsmobile for sale not too far from me. If I was finished with the 71 I might consider looking at it for a frame off resto. Those 30s cars are something else. You don't seem them often.

yeah,,it looks the same as a '36...my father owns one, similar to this which he bought from a nearby auto repair shop..its still in very good condition coz it uses a lakewood driveshaft..

 

I had a 34 3 window street rod. A lot of wood has to be removed to make the cars strong for street use. They are pretty cars.

 

Current issue (October 2009) of Journey With Olds (publication of Olds Club of America - should be able to see a cover shot on their national web site) has a beautiful '35 Coupe on the cover/inside article.
