C4 Transmission in 72 cutlass supreme?

I have looked all over for the answer to this and have come up empty. I have a 72 cutlass supreme. I just cleaned the transmission, which is out of the car, and I noticed as I was degreasing, a "C4 with a + sign at the top of the trans where it would bolt up to the engine. I thought I had a TH350. Can someone help with this ID?
Thanks!
Chris

Can you post a picture of the pan?
Maybe it looks like one of these.

I thought C4 was a Ford transmission. I know C6 was.
