Torque Converter question

What is a good company to get a custom torque converter from?

I have a TCI Breakaway in mine. They were very helpful on the phone and answered all my questions.

Eric, what stall did you end up going with on the converter? I am going tobe installing a TCI street fighter manual valve body th 400 in the cutlass. Iam going to call them and discuss my engine specifics but I am curious what youare running in yours.

Wow, there are a lot of companies that make converters and many of them that have off-the-shelf models can also do custom builds.

I got an off-the-shelf Hughes Performance 2500 stall for mine (GM-25BPO) and have been very happy with it.

My engine is a BBC 468, 10.5:1 compression, big oval port heads. I'm running around a 24-2600 stall with a TCI Breakaway torque convertor. Currently the same open rear as yours with 3:08's. I didn't want to run a 3000+ stall on the street.
