Hydo

Friend has a 40, can't get it in reverse, engine and trans was out of car, now we have this trouble. Is there a procedure for adjusting the shift rod? Thanks

are you sure the transmission's not blown and needs a rebuild?

that doesn't mean anything. transmissions can blow individual gears, I have one sitting in the shop with no 2nd gear...

Feel like something is blocking it? Make sure the idle speed is under 450 RPM.
