Stall Speed specifications 1970 TH400 OD

Can anyone point me to where I may find the factory stall speed specifications for the 1970 "OD" TH400, or better still perhaps all versions of the TH400 for 1970?

This OD transmission was standard for the L33 and L31 engines which came standard with the Y79 "SX" option. These engines delivered very different torque outputs; the peak torque was L33- 500ft/lbs at 2400rpm and the L31 - 510 ft/lbs at 3000rpm, and the L33 also had a very flat curve compared to the L31. The L31 has a curve more similar to the W32 engine.

Also of note is that the L31 was the same 455 engine, type TP or TQ, offered in the VC that year, when the VC had the OK TH400 as standard.

Since the L33 was first offered with the Y79 option that year, but discontinued in February 1970 and replaced with the L31, I was wondering why Olds would not have changed the transmission option as well, considering the significant differnece in torque curve.

I have the the L31 with the OD Th400, and am wondering if I can benefit from a torque converter with a slightly higher stall speed.

Thanks as always for your help.
Peter

I believe it's somewhere between 1800 and 2200, but don't quote me on that.

I sure would like to know this as well. Mine is a 1970 OB marked Th400. I'd heard it was 1800 but would love to know for sure.
