My 68 F85 came with a 3spd on the floor from the factory. Does anyone know if the shifter rods for the 3spd are the same for the 4spd Muncie? I'll eventually convert it to a 4spd M21 and probably use the correct 3138 Hurst shifter body. Thanks.

The shift rods are very different. For one the 3 speed is a top loader type trans.
So you will need the 4 speed and the linkage for it.
