TH200c lockup connector unplugged
TH200c lockup connector unplugged
Just had my TH200c rebuilt in my 87 Cutlass. I noticed the torque converter connector was not plugged in and I don't see the wires for it under the car. Will it be fine to drive with it disconnected? I hear driving without it can cause overheating but some people have driven without it for many miles with no problems. Would installing a trans cooler eliminate that problem? Or should I have someone connect it back?

The harness is there somewhere. Keep looking. Driving without the lockup feature active really only results in slightly higher gas consumption. It is common to leave it unplugged when the solenoid sticks and prevents the converter clutch from unlocking. In any case, whoever installed the trans screwed up and needs to make it right.
